The March 2006 edition (Volume 44, number 3) of Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry was a special issue dedicated to Professor David M. Grant on the occasion of his 75th birthday in recognition of his many contributions to both the methodology of NMR and its application to a wide range of chemical topics. It consisted of 24 articles contributed by various colleagues and associates to celebrate Dave’s oustanding scientific achievements.

A reception and dinner honoring Dr. Grant was held at the Grand America Hotel on May 25th. University President Michael Young, Sr. Vice President David Pershing, and 52 members of Dr. Grant’s family were among the many guests who attended. It was an evening of reminiscences with speeches given by Chair Peter Armentrout, Dean Peter Stang, President Michael Young, Board of Trustee Member David J. Grant, and Professor Jack Simons. Dr. Grant responded with humorous remarks at the end of the program.
