Education

Dixie State College, Associate of Science
University of Utah, expected graduation May 2009

Interests

I work with an environmental testing laboratory doing various inorganic EPA methods.  I enjoy playing new and obscure board games, and play Ultimate frisbee competitively.  I also work for the Utah National Guard as a networking supervisor, and have been employed by the U.S. Army for seven years. I am a current static-line Jumpmaster.

Research Interests

I am synthesizing lead sulfide nanocrystals in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions with near infrared emission.  Because many optical fibers transmit well in this region, some remote monitoring applications could become more feasible.  I am also working on encapsulating emitters in monodisperse sol-gels while minimizing fluorescence quenching.
