                            Magnetic Interaction of Molecule-based Materials

Cu(II) Trifluoroacetate Quinoline High Spin Triplet State

Cu(II) Trifluoroacetate Quinoline Antiferromagnetic Singlet State

Interpenetrated Center Cubic Ruthenium Acetate PBA

My research involved using both theoretical and physical methods to study properties of molecule-based materials, from dinuclear and trinuclear metal cluster molecule-based magnets to 3-D Prussian blue analog (PBA) extended structures.

The understanding of their electronic structure is essential.  ab initio and density functional theory with broken symmetry method are generally used as computational methods.  The study involve exchange interaction, spin density, spin anisotropy, charge distribution and charge transfer in various spin states.

I am also working on synthesize new PBA magnetic materials.
